Satellite

| In partnership with two service providers XWLAN can provide businesses and communities with Broadband Internet Service Provision where conventional methods of delivering this type of connectivity do not exist. In the UK this affects up to 30% of businesses and homes. In Europe this figure is much higher. Being a satellite based service, connection is unrestricted by physical, geographic and terrestrial access restrictions. There is no need to complete line tests or postal code checks. Always on connectivity allows constant 24-hour a day access for mail, file transfer and connectivity to other offices at speeds up to 2048 Kbps (320Kbps upload). By mounting this type of service on a suitable vehicle, mobile Internet Service Provision becomes a reality. This allows temporary Internet connectivity for sporting events, shows and other outdoor sites. In addition, using higher bandwidth connections (up to 24Mbps), this temporary connectivity can be used in a disaster recovery scenario, where any size of organisation needs to get ‘back up on their feet’ after flood, fire or other unforseen eventualities. |
